How to Blog: One Easy Step to Blogging Happiness

It's not like me to blog twice in one day, so think yourselves lucky. And think yourself lucky I'm blogging this, not saying it to you personally, I so just yammed a garlic bread.

Anyway, I digress.

The reason I am blogging again, in the same day, is down to another, yes, another, avoidable, daft and no doubt karma annoying "howling at the moon" episode in the world that we call blog (or Geeksville as I like to call it).

That age old superiority complex has reared it's ugly and no doubt well coiffured head again. It's not a surprise to some of us where this has come from, I'm not linking to it, I will just say " How to Lose Ticket Sales and Alienate People".

So, what is the tip to blogging happiness?

FECK, THE FECKING RULES, IDEAS OF OTHERS AND "YOU SHOULDN'T DO IT LIKE THAT IT WILL LOOK SHIT/YOU'RE A BLAGGER/YOU'RE NOT WORTHY FOR MY CONFERENCE" SAYERS AND BLOG FOR YOU.

Wowzers.

Is it so hard to not allow what you bitch about to your close personal arse-lickers buddies to become public knowledge? Is it so hard to just allow people to blog their own way, for their own reasons, and do likewise yourself?

You wouldn't see someone walk down the road in front with their trousers falling round their bums and tell them they are doing it wrong and must change immediately or they are simply a failure as a human being. You wouldn't see someone try to parallel park, do it badly, get out your car and berate them until they let you do it for them.

SO WHY SHOULD HAVING A BLOG BE ANY DIFFERENT????

Christ people, it's not hard. It's the net. We're not the UN. We're not the Queen. We're not a multinational company. We are a small bunch of people who blog about our lives or our days or stuff we buy.

Here's a newsflash- not many people outside our mates and fellow Geeksville writers give a shit what we think. We're not going to create world peace. We may give each other tips on the best nappies, or where not to shell out and take the kids, and what school shoes will survive an assault by child.

That's not to say we don't rock, but we do it on a small scale.

We do look out for each other, we do help each other out. There are bloggers I know I can go to for a chat, a virtual hug, or a rant and they will be there, when they aren't ironing or taking the kids to school to prop me up or console me, or laugh with me at the God darn stupidity of some people.

I don't care if you are a beauty blogger, a travel blogger, a Mummy Blogger. I don't care if you review, if you write sponsored posts. I don't care if you are shit at HTML like me or a God at it (I'm jealous though, but that's about it).

The very fact that in between all that Real Life throws, through the cancer scares, the break ups, the pregnancies, the truly awful and appalling deaths we've all been a party to, that you are there, writing it all down, allowing us to protect you, to inspire you to carry on, and in so doing inspiring us in return. That, that my friend is the true beauty of the thing.

And anyone who went to Britmums Live, felt the emotion, and stood together, as a community, through an appalling time, will atone to that.
